Removing Sharepoint edits in the content database

One problem that I always run into is when editing the look and feel of a
portal site or wss site is that ghosted pages won't show the changes. In some
situations the ghosted page won't display at all and will error out. This error
occurs because the ghosted pages are based on the page that you are changing in
a diffgram manor. When the page changes SharePoint has a problem with the page
because the base page is not the same. I have yet to find an “official”
Microsoft solution to this issue.

The solution I have found is to make the diffgram column null. All of the
personalizations will be lost but the changes to the page will be displayed.
